Tastes of Lincolnshire Canal View Bed and Breakfast

Things to do
There's something for everyone in the area, from exploring the History and Culture of Lincoln or walking through the countryside, to visiting a variety of childrens' attractions; shopping, eating & drinking amongst the cobbled streets of uphill Lincoln or simply sitting by the canal to watch the boats go by.

Countryside and Nature
Whisby Nature reserve is popular with bird watchers and walkers. Across the border in Nottinghamshire is Sherwood Forest, the National Trust's Clumber Park and Rufford Abbey.

A number of easy cycle routes are available for guests who want to explore the area on two wheels. Cycling around Lincolnshire Families
Sundown Adventure Land is a popular day out for families with children under 10 and there are a number of Farm Parks close by for children of all ages to enjoy.

Shopping, Eating and Drinking
Lincoln is described as a ‘city of two halves’. The tranquil ‘Uphill’ area with its cobbled streets, historic buildings and Medieval Castle mixes 2000 years of history with many specialist shops and café bars. In contrast, the lively ‘Downhill’ area has all the High Street retailers in pedestrianised shopping areas and the Brayford Waterfront provides a variety of places to eat and drink.

Culture and History
Visit the world famous Cathedral, 'one of the finest medieval buildings in Europe', which was used in the Da Vinci Code film or walk around the Castle walls and see one of the four remaining copies of the Magna Carta. You can still drive through one of the original Roman entrances to the city and with a mixture of museums, antiques and modern art, there is something for everyone.

Follow one of the Aviation Trails around the nearby airfields from which the famous Dambusters flew during the Second World War.
